Frequently asked questions
We’ve answered the most frequent of those frequent questions below.
An energy management system based on ISO 50001 is a widely used international standard that helps businesses consistently become more energy efficient. It helps companies understand their energy use, make smart decisions about how to save money and energy based on data, and keep getting better using the PDCA cycle (Plan-Do-Check-Act).
The costs depend on the size of the company, how complex the processes are, and how the management system is currently set up. We would be pleased to arrange a meeting with you to learn more about what your company requires and walk you through the setup process.
Companies that use more than 7.5 GWh a year in the average for the last three years are required to set up an energy management system (EnMS) that meets ISO 50001 standards.
Starting in 2027, datacenters with a nominal connected load of 300 kW or more, will need to introduce energy efficiency indicators (e.g. EnPIs) and report annually on the use of waste heat and renewable energy, according to the Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG).
DIN EN 17463 (ValERI) “Evaluation of energy-related investments” is a standard for calculating the enonomic viability of energy-saving measures. The norm sets a standard way to figure out how much energy-related investments will cost. It is required for ecological compensation, various legal requirements and for companies with operating energy management systems such as DIN EN ISO 50001.
